There are fans on computers that could make this noise, but often this sound is that of a failing hard drive. Back-up your data immediately. You may have thirty seconds, or three months. If your hard drive doesn’t work at all, Digital Age Solution can probably still recover some if not all of your data. We always recommend an external back-up device to avoid loss of your valuable data.

This is a result of the DC Jack breaking or coming loss from the motherboard. This is a common problem with laptops. There are two solutions. The first requires the laptop being taken apart and having a new jack soldered onto the board. The second is a bit less costly, but is not available on all laptops. A docking station can provide power to the laptop and the battery for charging, if your laptop has a docking port. These generally run between $150 and $200.

Laptop screens are fragile. They can handle some regular use, but often become damaged. People are often shocked at the cost of replacement LCD’s. Unfortunately, LCD prices are currently increasing, and every laptop has a specific connection and circuit board.

A slow computer can be a few things, but this user is describing a software issue, and most likely malicious software. If you know how to check the number of processes running, look to see if that number after starting up is above 35. If you are not doing anything on the computer, your computer should not be running more than 25 – 35 processes. Some malicious cannot be detected while Windows is running. If your Internet Security software does not detect malicious software and your computer is slow, it does not mean that your computer is clean. Just like a car, your computer should have a regular maintenance schedule that includes scanning for malicious software outside of Windows.
